PH. PH is also one of the important factors affecting the growth of microorganisms. Generally speaking, the pH value most suitable for microorganisms is neutral or weakly alkaline. High or low pH makes composting difficult. In addition, pH also affects nitrogen loss, so when pH is higher than 7.0, nitrogen will volatilize in the form of ammonia. However, generally speaking, the pH of livestock manure can meet the requirements of fermentation.
