Why are the fertilizer particles uneven in the fertilizer production line?

2025/03/17

In the fertilizer production line, the uniformity of fertilizer particles directly affects the market competitiveness and use effect of products. However, many companies will encounter the problem of uneven particle size in the production process, leading to a decline in fertilizer quality and even affecting sales. So, what causes this phenomenon? How to fix it?

1. Improper material moisture control

Moisture is the key factor affecting the effect of granulation. If the water content of the raw material is too high, it is easy to form large particles or stick into clusters, affecting the uniformity of the particles. If the moisture is too low, it may lead to granulation difficulties, loose particles, fragile. Therefore, in the NPK fertilizer production line, it is necessary to strictly control the moisture content to ensure suitable granulation conditions.

2. Granulator parameters are not correctly adjusted

The speed of fertilizer granulator, tilt Angle, spray amount and other parameters will affect the particle size. For example, too fast a speed may result in smaller and less dense particles, while too slow a speed may result in too large particles. In addition, if the spray system is not evenly distributed, some materials may not be effectively formed due to insufficient moisture. Therefore, adjusting the operating parameters of the fertilizer granulator is an important step to ensure uniform particles.

3. Uneven mix of raw materials

Before granulation, it is essential that the raw materials are evenly mixed. If the mixture is not sufficient, the material with different particle size and density will lead to inconsistent particle size after entering the granulator. Therefore, it is recommended to use efficient fertilizer mixer machine, such as horizontal mixer or double-shaft mixer, to ensure that the material is fully and evenly mixed and improve the stability of granulation.

4. Insufficient screening links

Some production lines are not equipped with screening equipment, resulting in small and large particles mixed, affecting the uniformity of the finished product. In the fertilizer production line, a suitable screening machine, such as a roller screening machine, should be configured to screen out unqualified particles and re-granulate them to improve product quality.
